Just weeks after getting fired by the Los Angeles Chargers, Tom Telesco could be scoring a job elsewhere in the division.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Tuesday that Telesco will interview for the vacant general manager job of the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders are hunting for a new GM after firing Dave Ziegler at the end of October.
Telesco, 51, has over three decades of executive experience in the NFL. He had served as GM of the Chargers since 2013, hitting on major draft picks like Justin Herbert, Joey Bosa, and Keenan Allen and making other smart moves such as trading for Khalil Mack and pumping the brakes on a large new contract for a declining Austin Ekeler.

While Telesco’s talented rosters were never able to get over the hump in the playoffs, much of that was the result of awful injury luck and poor coaching. Telesco hasn’t quite batted 1.000 as a GM, but his experience and his track record suggests he would be an excellent candidate for a Raiders team that just wrapped up their second straight sub-.500 season.
