Gary Kubiak hired as Ravens offensive coordinator
Gary Kubiak is more than landing back on his feet.
Less than two months after being fired by the Houston Texans amid a franchise-record losing streak, Kubiak has been hired by the Baltimore Ravens to become the team’s new offensive coordinator. Kubiak’s offensive coordinator with the Texans, Rick Dennison, was hired to serve as Baltimore’s QB coach.
Baltimore was also considering in-house receivers coach Jim Hostler, former Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, and Steelers running backs coach Kirby Wilson for the offensive coordinator job. They still need a running backs coach, and they made need to replace Hostler as WR coach if he takes another job, coach John Harbaugh said.
Kubiak, 52, was 61-64 in nearly eight seasons as Houston’s head coach. This is a good addition for Baltimore’s coaching staff.
