Gary Kubiak refuses to commit to starting quarterback
Broncos coach Gary Kubiak refused to commit to a starting quarterback for the team’s first playoff game.
The Broncos have the top seed in the AFC, so they’ll have two weeks to make and announce a decision, and Kubiak intends to take full advantage of that time.
“I won’t say anything,” Kubiak said Monday, via Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk. “I’ve got nothing for you today. I have no timeline.”
Kubiak may well already know and is just choosing to play things close to the belt. There’s almost no way the choice won’t be Peyton Manning, who, while not exactly prime Manning, did enough coming off the bench to get the Broncos the win after Brock Osweiler struggled. It’s almost impossible to imagine the Broncos going back to the youngster, particularly when he didn’t exactly seem to take his benching well.
