The George Kittle contract situation has been resolved, and the San Francisco 49ers tight end seems pretty happy.
Kittle on Tuesday signed a 4-year, $76.4 million contract extension that should keep him with the Niners through 2029. Kittle had been aiming to become the highest-paid tight end in the NFL and surpassed Trey McBride’s mark by $400,000. He will have an average annual contract value of $19.1 million.
Kittle was pretty thrilled about the outcome and recorded a video showing his reaction. The 49ers shared the video to their X account.

Kittle was already under contract for 2025 as part of a 5-year, $75 million rookie extension he had signed in 2020. Being signed through 2029 takes him through his age 36 season.
Kittle is 31 and has played for the Niners since they drafted him in the 5th round in 2017. He has made four straight Pro Bowls and six overall. Kittle had 78 catches for 1,106 yards and 8 touchdowns last season, suggesting he has not slowed down despite getting older.
