Sunday’s game in London between the Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars got off to a bizarre start with two players ejected on the opening kickoff.
Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and defensive end Bryan Thomas Jr. were both ejected on the opening kickoff after the two got tangled up on a block. Trotter seemingly pulled Thomas to the ground, while Thomas responded by forcefully kicking out at Trotter.
NFL Network would return to the incident later in the first quarter with a (slightly) more revealing replay https://t.co/kSQad932C8

The incident was bizarre in that there was no real clear replay view of the moment. What was visible suggested that Trotter’s ejection looked rather harsh.
The penalties actually wiped out what would have been an Eagles kickoff return touchdown on the opening play of the game. That essentially made what was already a strange play even weirder.
This is not quite the first time an Eagles player has been ejected so early in a game. For it to happen on the opening kickoff with two players involved is certainly highly unusual.
