Jake Locker reportedly has Lisfranc injury, may need foot surgery

The Tennessee Titans lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, but what’s even worse is that they may have lost quarterback Jake Locker for the season.

Locker was injured in the second quarter of the game on an option play. He limped back to the huddle after taking a hit and stayed in the game. He was so hobbled he failed to give Chris Johnson a clean handoff and the Titans lost a fumble on the next play. Locker limped off the field to the locker room and returned on crutches.

After the game, Titans reporter Jim Wyatt of The Tennesseean reported that the team believes Locker suffered a season-ending Lisfranc injury and may need foot surgery.

“I don’t know exactly how it happened, but when I got up from that run I could feel it,” Locker said after the game. “A lot of times your character is tested through adversity. You try to deal with it as positively as you can.”

Locker missed five games last season because of a shoulder injury that required surgery, and he missed two games this season with a hip injury. Now he might be done for the season. If that’s the case, he will have started in only 18 of 32 games in the past two seasons.
