Ja’Marr Chase unfortunately had an early end to Sunday’s game.
The Cincinnati Bengals star receiver Chase had to exit his team’s Week 4 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars due to a concussion. During the second quarter at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, Chase caught a short pass from teammate Joe Burrow and then got his facemask pulled by Jaguars cornerback Jarrian Jones.
Chase then took a secondary hit from Jacksonville linebacker Ventrell Miller, causing the back of Chase’s head to strike hard against the turf. Here is the video.

Jones was ultimately flagged for a facemask penalty on the play, giving the Bengals 15 yards as well as a fresh set of downs. But Chase, though he was able to walk off under his own power, was eventually ruled out for the rest of the game with a concussion.
The five-time Pro Bowler Chase entered play on Sunday with a modest 185 yards receiving and three touchdowns through his first three games. He then tacked on three catches for 27 yards on Sunday before getting knocked out of the contest.
Cincinnati plays again in exactly one week on Oct. 11 against the lowly Miami Dolphins. Chase, who did some talking before his team’s game against the Jaguars, will now be facing an uphill climb to get himself cleared from concussion protocol in time for Week 5.
