James Conner leaves end of Steelers’ MNF game with shoulder injury

James Conner

The Pittsburgh Steelers are struggling at the running back position after both James Conner and Benny Snell got hurt on Monday night.

Pittsburgh entered Monday night’s 27-14 win over the Miami Dolphins without Jaylen Samuels, who is out after getting his knee scoped. Then Benny Snell left with a knee injury. And in the final few minutes of the game, ESPN showed footage of Conner walking off the field with a potential injury.

Mike Tomlin said after the game that Conner had a shoulder injury and mentioned “AC”. He said he would provide a greater update on Conner’s status on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old rushed for 145 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries in the victory.

Monday’s win marked Conner’s best rushing game of the season by far. His previous high for yards in a game this season was 55 in Week 5.

After Snell’s injury, the Steelers were down to just Conner and Trey Edmunds at running back, which likely explains why Conner was still carrying the ball so late in a two-score game.
