How far behind Case Keenum is Jared Goff? A long way, apparently.
According to Jason Cole of Bleacher Report, Goff is currently listed as the No. 3 quarterback on the Los Angeles Rams depth chart, behind not only Keenum but also Sean Mannion, who is said to be outperforming Goff in practice.
Cole clarifies that the Rams coaching staff remains very high on Goff and believe he will eventually be a good NFL quarterback, but he is not close to being starter caliber and might have to wait a while for his chance.
Goff himself says he’s gaining confidence as he continues to grow accustomed to the NFL. However, it’s been reported that he was well behind the other highly-rated rookie quarterback in terms of grasping an NFL offense. Judging by this, it sounds like those reports weren’t far off the mark.
