Jason Kelce is preparing to host a unique new show with ESPN, and the former Philadelphia Eagles star has now shared some details about the gig.

During an appearance on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Thursday night, Kelce confirmed that he will soon be hosting a late-night television program on ESPN. The show will be called “They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce.”

“I loved late-night shows. I’ve always loved them. I remember sleepovers watching Conan O’Brien with my friends, and it’s like what are we doing here?” Kelce told Kimmel. “For me, the biggest thing that players say they miss when they leave the sport is being around the guys, is the locker room, is the banter. Being able to have the show where we’re gonna have a bunch of guys up there — legends of the game, friends that I played the game with, coaches, celebrities, while also incorporating NFL Films, who is gonna be a part of it. … Being able to play some of these iconic NFL songs. It’s gonna be a celebration.”

Kelce said the show will be a one-hour time slot and film on five consecutive Friday nights beginning Jan. 3, which coincides with the end of the NFL season and playoffs. The first four episodes will air at 1:00 a.m. EST and the fifth will air at 1:30 a.m. Kelce’s show will be filmed in front of a live audience from Union Transfer in Philadelphia.

The 36-year-old Kelce joined ESPN after he retired from playing earlier this year. He primarily works as an analyst on “Monday Night Countdown,” but he says the late-night show was part of his initial discussions with ESPN.

Kelce recently made headlines when he had a heated incident with a fan who insulted his brother Travis. The former Pro Bowl center apologized on the air after a clip of the altercation went viral.
