The Atlanta Falcons successfully executed an onside kick against the San Francisco 49ers that had the game seriously in doubt until NaVorro Bowman returned an interception for a touchdown with 1:10 left to seal the win.
Atlanta scored a touchdown on a 2-yard pass from Matt Ryan to Tony Gonzalez to make it 27-24 San Francisco with 2:09 left. They then kicked off from midfield thanks to a 15-yard penalty on the touchdown, and they recovered the onside kick on an awesome catch by Jason Snelling. Snelling made a one-handed grab and still got two feet down to make it count. They took over at the 30, already in field goal range.
The Falcons really looked like they were going to at least tie the game, but Bowman redeemed himself for whiffing on the onside kick by making an awesome play.
