Jawaan Taylor says medical reports about him are ‘false’
Jawaan Taylor might have had the most significant fall in the 2019 NFL Draft, and he doesn’t think there was a good reason for it.
Many mock drafts had Taylor as one of the first offensive linemen off the board. We had him going to the Jaguars at No. 7 overall. Instead, Taylor ended up going to the Jags a round later at pick No. 35.
There was talk that medical issues — his knee and back — had caused a slide.
Major medical red flags on Taylor as we first reported three weeks ago. 1) Knee 2) Back 3) Concerns over wild weight fluctuations- was close to 380lbs at times at Florida… Several teams took him off their board as a medical reject.

After being picked, Taylor told the Jacksonville media that the medical reports about him were false.
Jawaan Taylor not happy about false medical reports: “Medical reports are definitely false. I’m 100 percent ready to go. It hurt me a little bit last night My meniscus was torn in 2017 and I played my whole sophomore season on that. Then got the surgery after the season.''

The slide out of the first round may have cost him money, but not opportunity. Taylor still ends up with the Jags and should be able to start in the upcoming season – likely at right tackle.
