Jaxon Smith-Njigba wasn’t even trying to hide it on Thursday night.
The Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Smith-Njigba went viral during his team’s game against the Arizona Cardinals on “Thursday Night Football” for a hot mic moment. In the fourth quarter at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., Smith-Njigba had just been called for an offensive hold that wiped out a 7-yard Zach Charbonnet touchdown run.
Smith-Njigba was not at all pleased with the call and let referee Alex Kemp know about it right as Kemp was delivering the verdict. The Amazon Prime broadcast caught Smith-Njigba walking right in front of Kemp and interrupting the penalty announcement by loudly yelling out, “That’s some bulls–t!” Smith-Njigba’s profane outburst was caught on Kemp’s mic.
Kemp then gave Smith-Njigba a dirty look before proceeding with the call. Here is the video (but obviously watch out for the bad language).

With the offensive holding call on Smith-Njigba, the Seahawks had to settle for a field goal on the drive to put them up 20-6. The Cardinals then came storming back and tied the game 20-20 with 28 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter on an Emari Demercado touchdown catch from Kyler Murray. However, Seattle managed to get into field goal range on the ensuing drive, and kicker Jason Myers won the game with a 52-yard strike as time expired.

As for Smith-Njigba, he had a frustrating game on Thursday with just four catches (though he did manage to turn those into 79 receiving yards). While the Seahawks did hang on for the win, Smith-Njigba might be facing a fine from the NFL just like this other wide receiver who caught getting profane on a hot mic a few days ago too.
