The Washington Redskins lost an important piece during the week when they learned that rookie Derrius Guice would miss the season with a torn ACL. Despite Guice being lost for the season, Washington head coach Jay Gruden indicated that the team is not in a hurry to add a running back.
#Redskins coach Jay Gruden, on if they’ll add a back with Derrius Guice’s season-ending injury: “We have guys here that can play. We drafted Derrius because he was the best player we thought at the time of the draft… not because we weren’t satisfied with the backs we have.”

Washington still has a host of other running backs on the roster to choose from. Chris Thompson, Rob Kelley and Samaje Perine all saw action for the team last season and figure to split the workload at running back without Guice in the picture.
Guice has been placed on injured reserve.
