Jayden Daniels did not play in his Washington Commanders’ Week 3 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday due to a knee injury. The young Commanders quarterback is dying to get back out there for Week 4.

Daniels was termed “limited” in Washington’s practice on Wednesday. He spoke with reporters afterwards and expressed a strong desire to play in Sunday’s Week 4 game at the Atlanta Falcons.

Daniels told reporters that he “feels good.” However, he said “it’s up to the doctors” whether he gets cleared to play. He made clear that he wants to play.

How much running and cutting have you been able to do so far?

Daniels was seen wearing a brace on his left knee last week and on Sunday. He was able to move around at practice, but he was far from playing at game speeds.

The Commanders have Marcus Mariota as their backup quarterback, and he led the team to a victory in Week 3. They may not be motivated to rush Daniels back to action knowing they have a capable backup and that they will be facing a Falcons team that lost 30-0 to Carolina in Week 3.

Daniels has passed for 433 yards and 3 touchdowns this season, while rushing for 85 yards. Mariota passed for 207 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for a score in the win over the Raiders.
