Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones may be disciplined by the NFL after being caught on video directing an obscene gesture at New York Jets fans.
Jones was seen on video giving the finger to Jets fans during the Cowboys’ 37-22 win Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. While Jones did the gesture openly, it was brief, and he presumably assumed he was not being recorded.

The NFL does have a history of punishing owners who direct inappropriate behavior toward fans. In 2009, then-Titans owner Bud Adams was fined $250,000 by the league for doing the exact same thing Jones appears to have done.
Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper was also infamously punished by the NFL for throwing a drink on a fan during a game in December 2023.
Jones, of course, will have no problem paying the fine if it arrives. His team is now 2-2-1 and holding up okay despite many people doubting them following the Micah Parsons trade. Jones has been adamant that his team would be just fine despite the trade, and Sunday’s convincing victory probably had him feeling justified in clapping back at his critics.
