New Baltimore Ravens head coach Jesse Minter is wasting no time putting together an experienced staff.

On Tuesday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reported that the Ravens are adding recently-fired Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi to the staff as an offensive assistant.

After the Broncos lost to the New England Patriots in the AFC title game, Lombardi was fired, and then Davis Webb was promoted to OC after earning head coach interviews.

Lombardi was with Sean Payton on the New Orleans Saints as an assistant from 2009 until 2013, then he returned to New Orleans from 2016 until 2020 before leaving again.

Lombardi was the OC for the Los Angeles Chargers before going to Denver and joining Payton again in 2023.

Minter, who is a first-time head coach, hit big by hiring former Chicago Bears OC Declan Doyle as the Ravens OC. Minter then brought on former Miami Dolphins DC Anthony Weaver as the Ravens new DC, and Weaver was another candidate who drew head coach interest this cycle from several teams, including Baltimore.

The Ravens moved on from John Harbaugh after 18 seasons, and Minter quickly became a popular candidate for Baltimore due to his ties and his rising popularity after his successful run at Michigan and with the Chargers.

Now, Minter adds another experienced coach to a new-look staff in Baltimore.
