The New York Giants will be hiring a new head coach this offseason, and they could be looking at an assistant from a division rival.
According to NFL.com’s Michael Silver, Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz will be a “strong candidate” for the Giants’ position.
I expect Eagles DC Jim Schwartz to be a strong candidate for the Giants' HC opening

Schwartz has gained accolades for his performance with the Philadelphia defense since he took over and has long had a very good reputation as a coordinator. He also coached the Detroit Lions from 2009 through 2013, taking over an 0-16 team and leading them to a playoff appearance three years later. The Giants aren’t quite that bad, but there’s clearly dysfunction in the organization, and Schwartz’s experience turning around a drifting franchise could be a plus.
Schwartz won’t be the only candidate, as the Giants have also been linked to another high-profile head coach should he become available.
