Joe Flacco will be the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns for the remainder of the season, and on Thursday, they rewarded him with a new deal that carries with it significant financial incentives.
Flacco’s new deal covers the rest of the season, and sets him up to make a significant amount of money if he can help the team make a playoff run. The veteran quarterback will earn $75,000 per regular season win, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. After that, he will be owed $250,000 for a win in the Wild Card round, $500,000 for a Divisional round win, $1 million for an AFC Championship, and $2 million if the Browns manage to win the Super Bowl.
Joe Flacco’s new one-year deal with the Browns includes $4.05 million of incentives based on winning, per a source familiar with the deal.

The Browns are certainly well-positioned to make the playoffs, so Flacco will have a shot at making some real money. He has made plenty during his career, so it is not the primary motivation, but this has to be quite the pleasant surprise for a 38-year-old who spent most of the season in the free agent pool.
Flacco is 1-1 in two starts with the Browns. He clinched the starting job with an impressive performance against Jacksonville in Week 14.
