Joe Haden mocks Browns for cutting him to pay Brock Osweiler

Joe Haden

Joe Haden got out of Cleveland just in time to avoid going 0-16 with the Browns, and he certainly doesn’t seem happy about it.

Haden was asked by the Browns to take a pay cut, despite the team having plenty of cap space. That obviously didn’t sit well with him, and he was not shy to point it out when recounting the events that led to his release.

“They were going to pay Brock Osweiler $16 million and he’s not even on the team, and they wanted to cut money from me!” Haden told Greg Bishop of Sports Illustrated.

Initial reports indicated that the Browns’ coaching staff was not happy that Haden was cut, and he ultimately landed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he’s now in the playoffs. It’s not exactly a coincidence that Cleveland went 0-16 with decisionmaking like that from their old front office.
