Even John Cusack is ripping Jay Cutler
Jay Cutler is getting it from all angles. Even celebrity actors are criticizing him.
John Cusack did an interview with The Daily Beast to promote his upcoming movie “Love & Mercy” and was asked about Chicago’s sports teams, which are his favorites. He said he thought the Blackhawks would win their series in five games, and then he was asked for his thoughts on Cutler.
Q: What about Jay Cutler on the Bears, though? As a New York Jets fan, I feel like I’m a bit of an expert on quarterbacks that are head cases, and Cutler really doesn’t seem to have it.
A: Yeah. I think they’re going to be bad for a long time. I have some friends who are pro athletes like Chris Chelios and stuff, and they say that the body language is not good. If somebody does something wrong, he’ll point them out and say, “You’re supposed to be over there!” and throw his hands up in the air. You don’t see people trying to play for him with the passion and enthusiasm of a real leader, and he’s never won a playoff game and he’s 32 years old, so he is what he is at this point.
You hear that? Even John Cusack says Cutler is what he is. That means you can just forget about him, Chicago.
The Bears are keeping Cutler around for the upcoming season despite questions about whether or not they would let him go. If he does not show significant improvement, he probably will be wearing a different uniform in 2016. That’s a far cry from what was expected of him when he was brought to town in 2009.
Between this criticism from Cusack and what happened at the charity auction, it’s been a rough offseason for the Bears’ signal caller.
