Report: Josh Rosen could start for Dolphins in Week 3
The Miami Dolphins’ offense has been so bad through two weeks that they are already contemplating a quarterback change.
According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins will consider benching quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and starting Josh Rosen instead. That would have been considered anyway, but the futility of Miami’s offensive performances have only increased that thinking.
The Dolphins were shut out 43-0 by the New England Patriots on Sunday. Fitzpatrick started and went 11-of-21 with three interceptions, throwing for only 89 yards. Rosen came in later in the game and went 7-for-18 for 97 yards and one interception.
Dolphins coach Brian Flores has made clear that he doesn’t want to rush Rosen, and that’s fair. However, Fitzpatrick has been beyond awful, and there’s no real chance he’s going to get better. Rosen may not offer a huge improvement, but he’d at least have upside, and would get the opportunity to gain experience.
