A police report on the incident that led to Keion White’s shooting reveals that the San Francisco 49ers edge rusher got into a dispute with a famous rapper before being shot.
White allegedly got into an argument with rapper Lil Baby when the rapper tried to enter White’s private event at Dahlia’s in San Francisco, Calif., on Monday, according to Jonah Owen Lamb of The San Francisco Standard. A witness told police that when the argument began, they went upstairs to get management’s help in defusing the situation. While away from the scene, they heard two gunshots, and returned to find White shot in the ankle.
The witness said he did not know who shot White, and police have not named a suspect.
Previous reports have suggested that while White was shot in an altercation, he was not believed to be involved in the altercation. His injuries were not believed to be career-threatening.
White, 27, was acquired by the 49ers in a trade with the New England Patriots last October. A former second-round draft pick, White appeared in 11 total games for San Francisco this season (regular season and playoffs).
Overall on the year, White logged 16 combined tackles, 2.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery for the 49ers. The Georgia Tech product is under contract with San Francisco for the 2026 season at a total cap hit of $1.8 million.
