Report: Kellen Moore a leading candidate for Cowboys OC job

Dallas Cowboys

Kellen Moore is a leading candidate to become the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive coordinator, according to a report.

The Cowboys are seeking a new offensive coordinator after parting ways with Scott Linehan. According to the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys like internal candidates for the job, with Moore as the leading candidate. They say tight ends coach Doug Nussmeier is also a possibility for the position.

Moore was a star quarterback at Boise State, then spent six seasons in the NFL, starting with the Detroit Lions and then the Cowboys. He played in three games for the Cowboys in 2015 before breaking his leg in 2016. He spent this season as Dallas’ quarterbacks coach.

There was some talk of Jason Garrett potentially calling plays next season, which may still be a possibility.
