Report: Kenny Britt said he felt betrayed by Rams

Kenny Britt is with a new team after three seasons with the Rams, and it appears he is not happy about that.

Britt recorded himself on Instagram Live Thursday night and said he felt betrayed by the Rams not signing him, according to Turf Show Times.

Turf Show Times, a site that covers the Rams, says Britt suggested that the franchise signing Tavon Austin to a $56 million extension last year is the reason why they couldn’t afford him. The site said many people speculated that Britt was intoxicated while filming the video. They also say he used a disparaging term when labeling Austin. Britt denied both charges.

Britt, who signed a four-year, $32.5 million deal with the Browns last month, addressed the issues in two Instagram posts on Saturday.

“I wasn’t going to give any of this nonsense any of my time or energy. But when y’all start disrespecting me and my family it’s becomes an issue. Never will I disrespect anyone I call my brother or friend so let’s get that straight,” Britt wrote, likely in reference to Austin. “Anything I said on (ig live ) was directed towards the (disrespectful fake fans).”

He then went on to say (in more profane terms) that he didn’t want fans coming onto his Instagram page praising another player.

“So next time a reporter (TurfShowTime) puts an article out make sure they check their source. Because they will have you looking like a dummy and that is how you lose credibility. Especially when you say someone is “intoxicated” while doing physical therapy. So that will be the last time you hear from me about this.”

Britt had 68 catches for 1,002 yards and five touchdowns — excellent numbers for a guy whose quarterbacks were as poor as the Rams’ last season. He may have been disappointed not to be brought back by the Rams, but he’ll have a new opportunity to shine in Cleveland. This also isn’t the first controversy for Britt on his Instagram page, as the one before was much worse.
