Kevin Hogan stands very little chance of making the Cleveland Browns’ roster out of training camp this year, and the third-year quarterback is hoping to start fresh somewhere as soon as possible.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Hogan has received permission from the Browns to seek a trade.
#Browns reserve QB Kevin Hogan has requested and received permission for his agent to seek a trade out of Cleveland, I’m told. Hogan started one game last year, but had his best moments coming off the bench against the #Jets (122.4 passer rating).

Hue Jackson has already said that Tyrod Taylor is going to start for Cleveland in Week 1, and the Browns also signed veteran quarterback Drew Stanton this offseason. With those two in place and the team almost certain to select a quarterback early in the upcoming draft, Hogan knows he’s going to be the odd man out.
The Browns traded Cody Kessler to the Jacksonville Jaguars last week for a conditional seventh-round pick, and Hogan’s value is probably somewhere in that neighborhood. In four games last season, Hogan threw for 517 yards, four touchdowns, five interceptions and had a lowly passer rating of 71.9.
