Buffalo Bills quarterback Kevin Kolb is trying to bring his new team some stability at quarterback this season, but he can only do that if healthy. And if the Bills don’t start taking better care of their facilities, that may be a challenge.
On Saturday, Kolb slipped on a wet rubber mat while running between fields at Bills training camp. He managed to keep his balance, but he reportedly stumbled awkwardly and appeared to have trouble putting weight on one of his legs afterword. Kolb then threw his helmet in frustration and sat down.
According to the Associated Press, Cardinals head trainer Bud Carpenter briefly examined Kolb’s knee and then escorted him to the locker room. A group of workers then moved in and began sweeping the water off the rubber mats, which are shown below.

Bills head coach Doug Marrone told reporters the injury is not serious and that Kolb is considered day-to-day. Rookie quarterback EJ Manuel, who is competing with Kolb for a starting job, is expected to receive more reps while the former Arizona Cardinals quarterback’s knee heals.
This is the second bizarre injury we have heard about in the NFL this offseason, though the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Dallas Cowboys safety Barry Church’s root canal were much tougher to believe.
