For 59 minutes and 34 seconds, Blair Walsh was the MVP for the Minnesota Vikings in their playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks. And then he missed a 27-yard field goal with 26 seconds left at a time when the Vikings were all but assured of a victory.
Here is a look at the kick:

Replays showed that the laces were in on the kick, which is something that tends to negatively affect kickers.
Walsh did actually make a 47-yard field goal — impressive no matter what, but even more so in those weather conditions — earlier in the game despite the laces being in. This time around, he could not deliver.
Walsh was still 3-of-4 on field goals and really had a good game overall. Even more than his missed field goal, Adrian Peterson’s fumble hurt the Vikings’ chance of winning.
