Lamar Miller wants to be a featured back on his next team

Lamar-Miller-Dolphins

Lamar Miller will be a free agent soon, and he wants to be the number one back wherever he lands.

The Dolphins running back told Joe Rose of WQAM in Miami that he’s not really interested in splitting carries.

“I want to be a featured back,” Miller said, via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. “I want the recognition I deserve.”

Miller averaged fifteen carries per game with the Dolphins in 2015, and when asked what his ideal total would be going forward, he said “twenty.”

The running back was born and raised in Miami and went to the University of Miami, so sentimentally, he’d love to stay with the Dolphins. However, if they don’t offer him the money or role he wants, he’s probably gone.

Miller has, at times, been frustrated with his role in Miami’s offense. At times he has been, frankly, poorly utilized. He’ll likely seek assurances from new coach Adam Gase before testing his options.
