Larry Fitzgerald posted a note on social media Sunday, a day after his son Devin announced his college commitment.

Devin Fitzgerald, who is a 3-star wide receiver, announced on Saturday that he is committing to play at Notre Dame. The 2026 wide receiver picked Notre Dame over Clemson, Stanford and UCLA.

“[Devin Fitzgerald] I’m so proud of the young man you’re becoming. Watching you grow, learn, and find your way has truly been one of the greatest blessings of my life,” Larry Fitzgerald wrote in his note.

“Your college decision is just the beginning of what’s ahead. It won’t always be easy. You’ll be pushed and challenged in ways you can’t fully see yet, but that’s where real growth happens. I’m proud of everything you’ve accomplished so far, but I’m even more proud of the man you’re becoming through the process.

“Always stay true to who you are. Lean into the tough moments those are what shape you far more than the easy ones ever will. Your strength, your heart, and your determination will carry you wherever you want to go.

“The best is yet to come, and I’ll be right here with you through all of it the good, the bad, and everything in between. Love you, Dad.”

Fitzgerald is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect from Brophy College Preparatory school in Phoenix, Ariz. He is ranked by Rivals as the No. 82 wide receiver in the nation and No. 7 at his position in the state of Arizona.

Larry Fitzgerald played 17 seasons in the NFL ranks second all time behind only Jerry Rice in receptions (1,432) and receiving yardage (17,492 yards). He ranks sixth all time with 121 touchdown catches and is a future Hall of Fame player. If Devin comes anywhere close to accomplishing what his father did, Notre Dame will be in a good spot.
