LeGarrette Blount defends ‘elite’ Matthew Stafford
Matthew Stafford did not play well in the Detroit Lions’ loss to the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving Thursday and really has not been too swell all season. Regardless, he still has the support of at least one of his offensive teammates.
LeGarrette Blount, who scored two touchdowns in the 23-16 defeat, defended Stafford after the game. He called his teammate “elite.”
LeGarrette Blount on Matthew Stafford: "Obviously, he’s an elite quarterback. I think he’s one of the best in this league. I don’t think that its fault that we can — I don’t think that it’s fair for us to put it all on him."

Though Blount says it’s not fair to put the whole loss on the quarterback, it’s very easy to point to Stafford’s play at the end of the game as a big problem.
Stafford threw an ugly pick six to break a tie with around six minutes left. It came on the first play of Detroit’s possession after they were handed great field position. Then on the next drive, with Detroit trying to tie the game, Stafford threw an interception in the end zone with 1:11 left to essentially seal the defeat.
This was not a good game from Stafford. They simply need him to play better.
