Bill O’Brien: ‘Looks decent’ for JJ Watt to play in Week 1
The odds appear to be increasing that JJ Watt will be ready for the Houston Texans’ season opener.
Texans coach Bill O’Brien said Friday that Watt’s recovery continues to go well, and he’s in with a fair chance of playing in Houston’s season opener next weekend.
O'Brien on DE J.J. Watt: "We are headed in the right direction with him. It looks decent for him to be able to play in the first game."

The signs continue to be good for Watt. O’Brien was optimistic earlier this week as well, and it doesn’t seem as if there have been any further setbacks. Barring anything unforeseen, it seems like a safe bet that Watt will be suiting up for the season opener.
