Marcus Mariota breaks off 87 yard touchdown run (Video)
Marcus Mariota is a gifted runner, especially by quarterback standards, and he gave us another reminder of that on Sunday.
On third down and seven from his own 13 yard line, Mariota broke off an 87 yard touchdown run to give the Titans a fourth quarter lead over the Jaguars.
There are a lot of great parts about this. First, it wasn’t even a designed run, Mariota just took off from inside his own ten, so he had to scamper more than 90 yards for the score. Second, quarterbacks are not supposed to be that fast. Third, he gets fantastic downfield blocking from his teammates here.
With skills like that, it’s no wonder Chip Kelly misses him and may want a reunion.
