Marcus Mariota sat out last week when the Tennessee Titans defeated defeated the Houston Texans, and the team has yet to say if he will play on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, some of the reports and footage from Thursday’s practice were very encouraging.
Mariota has been dealing with a pinched nerve in his elbow, and Titans coach Mike Vrabel said this week that the quarterback has been unable to make all the throws he needs to make. However, Mariota appeared to be throwing with some zip at Tennessee’s most recent practice.

Mariota was wearing some sort of glove on his throwing hand, but reporters in attendance noted that he looked like his normal self.
#Titans practice update: QB Marcus Mariota still wearing the partial glove on his right hand, but to me – I'm no coach, no doctor – it looked as if he was making a number of longer throws with more velocity today. (1/2)

While Blaine Gabbert was able to get the job done against Houston, the Titans are facing a much tougher test against one of the league’s best defenses in Jacksonville this weekend. If Mariota is fully healthy, it will be a no-brainer for Vrabel to play him.
