Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow are acting all buddy-buddy for now

The Jets quarterback situation will likely be the most attention-grabbing in the NFL. Even though the team says Mark Sanchez will remain the starter and Tim Tebow will be the backup, you can bet the fans will want Tebow to start as soon as Sanchez plays poorly.

Even though we see things getting ugly, the two quarterbacks are playing nicely for now. Sanchez even reached out to Tebow Wednesday.

“He called me, left a voicemail. I called him back and we talked,” Tebow said during a conference call with the media Wednesday. “We got to catch up a little bit, had a great conversation. I’m looking forward to seeing him soon and working with him soon. We’ve been blessed to get to know each other the last couple years and I’m looking forward to being in the same meeting room with him and spending time with him.”

Asked about competing with Sanchez, Tebow handled the question well.

“I think we’re both extreme competitors. I think we’ll be able to push each other to get better. I think we’ll have a great working relationship, we’ll have a great off field relationship like we’ve had the past two years.”

It’s easy for them to play nicely on day one, but you can guarantee that will change once the season begins. I wouldn’t be surprised if Tebow were the starter by Week 10. It’s not that I think Tim Tebow is a great NFL quarterback, it’s that I don’t think Mark Sanchez can get the job done.
