If punters can be exciting, Marquette King is easily one of the most exciting in the game. But after what he attempted to do in the second half of Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio may tell King to take it down a notch.
With the Raiders trailing 16-7 late in the third quarter, King took off and attempted to run for a first down on 4th-and-11. He did this from Oakland’s own 31-yard line.

As if the decision — which appeared to be King’s own judging by the way Del Rio reacted — wasn’t horrible enough, King then threw the ball at a Broncos defender and was flagged 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Fortunately for King, the Raiders held the Broncos to a field goal attempt and Denver didn’t convert. Still, the veteran punter should probably save antics like that for when he’s having fun at the grocery store.
