Marquez Valdes-Scantling shares cool note after signing with Chiefs
Marquez Valdes-Scantling signed his first big NFL contract on Thursday, and the veteran wide receiver is not taking it for granted.
Valdes-Scantling signed a three-year, $30 million deal with the Kansas City Chiefs that could be worth more with incentives. After the agreement was announced, the 27-year-old summed up his emotions with an awesome tweet.
I could cry real tears right now. I got cut from my high school team as a freshman to signing a second contract in the NFL. Never let any person place a limitation on who you can be. THANK YOU GOD!!!

Valdes-Scantling was a fifth-round pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2018. He made plenty of big plays in his four years with the team, but he only averaged around 30 catches per season. You can certainly understand why he is so thrilled to land a contract worth $10 million annually.
It should also be noted that Valdes-Scantling is going from Aaron Rodgers to Patrick Mahomes. What more could a receiver ask for? The man truly is blessed.
