Matt Leinart thinks Ken Whisenhunt will be fired in a few years
Matt Leinart apparently does not have too much confidence in the man who coached him during his NFL career.
During a Twitter conversation Wednesday with fellow FOX Sports analyst Clay Travis, Leinart predicted Ken Whisenhunt would be out of a job in Tennessee before long. Whisenhunt was Leinart’s head coach in Arizona.
The Twitter exchange began with Travis saying the Jake Locker era was over in Tennessee thanks to the Zach Mettenberger announcement.
“@ClayTravisBGID: Locker era over. RT " will be for someone else in a year or two as well. Same story

Leinart explained that Whisenhunt’s time will be up there before long.

@EJH711 @ClayTravisBGID Not bitter at all. Just stating the obvious

Leinart was a rookie in 2006, the year before Whisenhunt became the Cardinals coach. Whisenhunt made veteran Kurt Warner the team’s starting QB and rode the former MVP to the Super Bowl in ’08. Leinart only lasted in Arizona through 2009, starting 17 games, so it’s easy to see why Whiz wouldn’t be his favorite guy.
Whisenhunt did good work at Arizona and unquestionably made the right call by choosing to roll with Warner over Leinart, but he didn’t make a wise choice in deciding to coach the Titans. They just don’t have a very good team and need a QB to turn it around. Leinart could be right about his prediction.
