Video: Angry Matt McGloin rips offense in halftime interview, gets benched
The XFL may be in its infancy, but it wasted little time providing a memorable interview moment in its second week of action.
That moment came courtesy of New York Guardians quarterback Matt McGloin, who was having a very difficult time figuring out the DC Defenders defense in Saturday’s game. After a scoreless first half in which McGloin threw for just 32 yards, the quarterback’s frustration got the best of him and he threw the entire offense under the bus as he headed to the locker room for halftime.
Matt McGloin is…not happy

McGloin ended up throwing a pick-six in the second half and was ultimately benched, so it’s safe to say that whatever was discussed at halftime did nothing to sort out the issues.
The funny thing is the XFL has all sorts of in-game broadcast access that was meant to generate these moments, but the first notable one came from a more traditional halftime interview. We saw some funny stuff in the first week, but this is the real bit of drama the broadcast access has provided.
