The Tennessee Titans are in the hunt for a new head coach, and two former coaches are reportedly likely to get a look from the organization.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Monday revealed a pair of names to watch for the Titans job, and both are former head coaches. Rapoport expects Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy and Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith to be candidates for the position.

Both coaches have ties to the Titans, albeit in very different ways. Nagy has worked with Titans GM Mike Borgonzi with the Chiefs, while Smith served as the Titans’ offensive coordinator before becoming head coach of the Atlanta Falcons.

Nagy made the playoffs twice with the Chicago Bears while going 34-31 overall. Smith went 21-30 in three seasons coaching the Falcons.

The Titans are in the hunt for a new head coach after firing Brian Callahan just six weeks into his second season. Whoever takes over will inherit a roster that is largely devoid of talent, but does have a building block at quarterback in the form of No. 1 pick Cam Ward. That alone makes the job fairly attractive, though Titans fans might push for a more imaginative hire than two former head coaches that did not make much of an impact in their first shots at the job.
