The Los Angeles Rams barely escaped with a win in their NFC Divisional Round playoff game with the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field in Chicago, Ill., on Sunday night, and Matthew Stafford had a classy interview after the game.

The Rams beat the Bears 20-17 in overtime on a 42-yard field goal by Harrison Mevis. Stafford went 20/42 for 258 yards playing through tough conditions. After the game, he was interviewed by the NFC “Sunday Night Football” crew and gave credit to everyone else, including

“We didn’t play our best on offense. Our defense dominated the game — it was unbelievable to watch. Hell of a play on fourth down by Caleb (Williams) to get his team to overtime. Just glad we got the ball back. Our defense got us back again — great pick,” Stafford said, before passing the attention to kicker Mevis.

Stafford is a veteran and knows how to pass out the credit. He attributed the win to the Rams’ defense, made sure that Mevis got the recognition he deserved, and he even credited his counterpart, Caleb Williams. That was a classy response.

The Rams were able to win without Stafford at his best in Chicago. They’ll need him playing much better in the NFC Championship to beat the Seahawks in Seattle.
