The Las Vegas Raiders have a very angry Maxx Crosby on their side this season, according to one of his former teammates.
Former defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, who spent one year as Crosby’s teammate, said Crosby is coming into camp with “a point to prove” after a somewhat tumultuous offseason. In an appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show,” McCoy indicated that Crosby is using his failed trade to the Baltimore Ravens as fuel ahead of what is expected to be a big season for him.
“Maxx Crosby has a point to prove. He’s a little pissed off. Actually, he’s a lot of pissed off,” McCoy said. “I was just with Maxx in Vegas. He’s got a point to prove, and he’s going to have these guys on a mission.
“He loves the Raiders, for one, but he was traded, then he was given back. It’s almost like they said, ‘We don’t really need you, but we need you.’ And then the other team is saying, ‘You kind of lost a step. We don’t really trust you.’ Maxx is out to prove a point. I’m Maxx Crosby for a reason.”

The Raiders dealt Crosby to the Ravens during the offseason, only for him to controversially fail the physical. That put Crosby in the awkward spot of having to return to a team that had traded him. It has left Crosby motivated, both toward the Ravens for backing out of the deal and toward the Raiders for trading him in the first place.
Crosby is a Raiders lifer who has professed his loyalty to the organization, even after the trade. He had ten sacks for them last season, and one can only wonder what sort of numbers he might put up if he is even more motivated now.
