Michael, Martellus Bennett bash ‘worst QB in the NFL’ Jay Cutler

Martellus Bennett

Jay Cutler is not known as being one of the best decision-makers in the NFL, and tight end Martellus Bennett got a pretty good feel for that in the three seasons he spent in Chicago. But if you thought Martellus had an unfavorable opinion of Cutler, just wait until you hear what his brother Michael has to say.

In a highly entertaining feature from Mina Kimes of ESPN the Magazine, both Martellus and Michael were asked for their opinions on several NFL players. Jay Cutler was the first one who came up, and Michael was quite ruthless.

“Worst quarterback in the NFL,” the Seahawks defensive end said.

Martellus, who probably knows Cutler on a more personal level, was slightly less harsh.

“I’d be open and he’d throw into double coverage,” he said.

Another player the Bennett brothers were asked about is Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford. Their thoughts on him may have been even more offensive, though the delivery was much more unique.

“The greatest quarterback in the NFL,” Michael said.

“Vicious,” Martellus quipped. “Competitive.”

“A real Joe Montana,” Michael added.

I think it’s safe to say the Bennetts were patronizing poor Mr. Bradford, but we can’t be too sure.

There’s no love lost between Martellus Bennett and the Bears, and this report from last year will give you a better idea as to why. Martellus may not be the best tight end on the roster with his new team, but something tells us he will enjoy catching passes from Tom Brady much more than he enjoyed catching them from Cutler.
