Michael Sam cracks funny joke about Rams moving to LA
The franchise that drafted Michael Sam in the final round of the draft two years ago is moving to Los Angeles. The former Missouri star has some entertaining thoughts about that.
TMZ spoke with Sam over the weekend, and he made a joke about having a conversation with his former boss about renaming the St. Louis Rams.
“So, here’s the thing. I was talking to (Rams owner) Stan Kroenke and said we’re going to change the name of the team,” Sam said. “We’re gonna call it the L.A. Samsonites. And Caitlyn Jenner’s gonna be the head coach, so I know for sure I’m gonna be on the damn team. It’s a done deal.”
When asked if he would like to play for a team in L.A., Sam got a bit more serious.
“I would love to,” he said. “Anywhere.”
Sam has never appeared in a regular season NFL game, and the outlook for his playing career gets worse as more time passes. He was with a CFL team for a brief period before leaving for reasons that were no laughing matter.
Despite all that, Sam still says he wants to play for an NFL team in 2016. We’re glad to see he has a sense of humor about it.
