Mike Mitchell sent a tweet on Friday that seemed to hint at his impending release.
The Pittsburgh Steelers safety sent the following tweet:

The tweet led NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport to say that the Steelers are expected to release Mitchell next week, though he says the team is open to bringing back Mitchell on a discount.

This has been the expectation all offseason considering Mitchell was set to make $5 million in the final year of his deal. Cutting him will help the Steelers create some cap space.
