Watch: Eagles RB Miles Sanders has helmet ripped off on terrifying play
Phialdelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders had his helmet literally ripped off his head during Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions, and the rookie was lucky his head didn’t come off with it.
Sanders was returning a kickoff in the second quarter when Lions defensive back Miles Killebrew arm-tackled him around the head and neck area. Sanders’ head looked like it almost turned more than 90 degrees before his helmet popped off, and somehow there was no flag on the play.

It’s always scary when a player’s head is turned around like that, but fortunately Sanders spring up and did not appear to be injured.
The Eagles took Sanders with the 53rd overall pick in this year’s draft. He spent time as Saquon Barkley’s backup while at Penn State, and he has been splitting time with Jordan Howard through the early part of the season.
