The San Francisco 49ers announced on Friday that they are releasing NaVorro Bowman, and the veteran linebacker is not expected to be out of work very long.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Bowman is expected to sign with a new team no later than Monday.

Bowman, whose season was cut short by a torn Achilles last year, appeared in all five games for the 49ers and recorded 38 total tackles. The 29-year-old has been one of the best inside linebackers in football, and San Francisco probably would have found a trade partner for him if not for his $7 million salary.
Contending teams that are in need of linebacker help include the Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys.
