Report: NFL Network to have limited involvement in joint draft telecast
ESPN and NFL Network are preparing a joint telecast for the scaled-down virtual NFL Draft, but one network appears to be getting a much larger role than the other.
According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, the combined telecast will essentially be the work of ESPN, with limited involvement from NFL Network. As it stands, only three NFL Network personalities — Rich Eisen, Kurt Warner, and Daniel Jeremiah — are expected to have a significant role in the broadcast, and it’s entirely possible that no one else from the network participates.
A combined draft telecast makes sense right now for a variety of reasons. This will still probably be a disappointment to many with NFL Network, as this is one of the biggest days of the year usually and a chance for them to shine. Instead, their involvement will be scaled back heavily.
