Oakland apparently is going to put up a fight to keep the Raiders.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported late Tuesday that the city of Oakland and Alameda County approved a term sheet for a $1.3 billion stadium to be built by an investment group led by Ronnie Lott.
The Oakland City Council voted 7-0 with one abstention while the county voted 3-1 with one abstention in favor of the terms.
The deal calls for the city and county to give $350 million towards the project — $150 million in land at the Coliseum site, and $200 million to develop infrastructure for building purposes.
Even with Oakland making an effort to keep the team, owner Mark Davis may still prefer to move to Las Vegas, where a nearly $2 billion stadium has been approved for construction.
