The Green Bay Packers have confirmed the worst possible news about quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
The team confirmed Sunday that Rodgers suffered a broken collarbone Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, and while there is no exact timetable, they announced that their star quarterback could be finished for the season.

Losing Rodgers would be a crushing blow for the Packers. Even though this was the injury they feared, there had to be some hope that the fracture would not be serious enough to cost him upwards of ten weeks out, as was the case when he suffered such an injury in 2013. They may not be so lucky this time — and it’s hard to see Green Bay staying afloat for very long without him.
